the saem - Gem Miracle W Pearl Beam Cream

Hi Lovelies, thanks for dropping by again. This time, I am doing a review on a moisturizer that I've bought recently. I have used this cream for about a week already, and I have seen great improvement on the condition of my skin.

Two weeks ago, my skin was breaking out severely. I got a lot of acne scar around the nose area and on my chin. I was soo frustrated because none of my moisturizers did any good at removing those scars. On top of that, they were causing my skin to break out even more.

The acne cream I used is clean start 'hit the spot'. It does a great job in calming the acne and controlling it. However, my skin was in such a horrible condition that other unusual places start getting break out also. I guess my skin was getting very sensitive to whatever I was using. So I stopped any moisturizers or serum for a week. Then my skin started cracking because it was soo dry. Then I had to go back to using my usual hydrating cream, but my break out came back. AHH~ I literally went crazy.

Then I remember how my skin is always better with korean skincare. So I went to a place in Causeway Bay and asked the sales lady to recommend me a moisturizer. I wanted one that could help me eliminate my scars and at the same time does not irritate my skin. She recommended me this Beam cream from the saem. She told me that this brand has been selling in Korea for years. She gave me a little to try on the back of my hands.. I immediately fell in love because the texture and formula is exactly the same as the EGF cream that was carried by Dr. G (however unfortunately has been discontinued). So I decided to give it a try since it's not expensive (HKD 260 for 50ml).

As you can see, the packaging is super clean, and the container is sooooo prettty!!! The cream is lightly scented. I have been using it for a week already, and my skin no longer goes out of control. The scars are slowly fading. I am so glad I have found it since my skin has become very sensitive to US or euro branded skincare, and God knows the reason why.

That's it for my review. I hope this will help those who are currently in the same situation as me. See u'all nxt time. Also, if you have tried other the saem products, please share with me and tell me how it goes....

Love,
Christy

Superstrands Clip in Extension Review

CAUTION: I have been getting a lot of mixed messages and comments lately regarding this online store not shipping out products, not replying to any orders inquiries. Some people are saying that this company is still running fine and is a trusty one. Just shop at your own cost. I do not want to label this online shop to be fraudy or not. Nevertheless, I DID receive my parcel.

I received my Superstrands Clip in Extensions today.
What I got is the Deluxe 20" 10 Pieces Clip in Hair Extension in Colour 1# Jet Black.
These are about 180g in weight and are quad wefted meaning you get four wefts sewed together as one.
Also, they are 100% Remy hair.
On the website it says it will include
However, what I got in the package was a 5" instead of the longest 8".
Nevertheless, it has enough hair in my opinion.

As you can see, the packaging is SUPER crappy. It's just a cardboard tied to the hair extensions put into a plastic bag. There is no instruction manual, no comb, no extra clips, no anything except for the hair extension you ordered. I have to say that I am quite disappointed with the packaging because it certainly "debrands" the product even though the quality of the hair is average above.

I actually cannot comment on the clips yet because I have not worn these extensions for more than an hour yet. But they seem to be very sustainable and heavy-duty in my opinion. However, things can happen and they can break, I am sure.

The hair is very soft, silky and true to colour. I ordered the darkest colour because I thought my dyed black hair is already very dark. Yet, jet black is even darker than my dyed black hair. I have yet to find split ends in these hair.

One thing that worries me is that the hair kept shedding ever since I got them. I don't know if this is a normal thing for hair extensions.

Anyhow, I am quite satisfied with these hair extensions as per now.
I definitely need to bring them for a cut before I actually wear them since they are too long to blend into my real short hair at the moment.

After the cut, I will post some picture of me with these extensions on. By that time, you guys will prob have a better view on how these extensions sit on a real head.

Anyways, if you want to check them out, go to http://www.superstrands.com

Next time, after these wear out, I will prob try the extensions from Hello Gorgeous because I heard they sell the thickest and finest quality hair extensions. If I could have found out sooner~ Anyhow, I couldn't wait for 5 weeks anyways.

Until Next Time guys!

Sleek Makeup Little Haul

Hi guys,

My package from Sleek Makeup has arrived. I figured I will make a post on the stuff that were in the package. First, there are two True Colour Lipsticks: Matte Stiletto and Sheen Coral Reef.

The Matte Stiletto is very similar to the Nars Matte Red lipstick that I had. The colour is quite similar; however, this is about half the price of the one I got at Nars. Definitely a good deal! So to have that perfect red lip with the Matte Stiletto, you can youtube the tutorials. There are tons! I don't think I will need to re-do what people did already.

The Coral Reef is kind of like a watermelon colour. It's definitely nice for summertime. I personally like the Coral Reef better because the formula is more moisturized since it's sheen based. To let the colour standout, I would recommend using a peachy lipliner for the base.

Stiletto & Coral Reef

Second, there is a mineral based eyeshadow palette in STORM 578. This palette is good for everyday natural makeup because it consists of a lot of base colours like nude, brown and black.

The packaging is a little bit crappy, but that's ok. The quality of the eyeshadow is definitely very good for a drugstore standard. The eyeshadows are very true to colour and are vivid.

In this palette, there are 3 matte colours and 9 shimmery colours.

I hope you guys enjoyed my little review on SleekMakeup's products.
Next time when I see you guys, it will be my clip-in hair extension review post.

BTW, my order from BARNEYS had also arrived. LOVING my new sandals to every bits and pieces.

Until next time.

Quick Updates

So.. there isn't much I can write about these days.

But I will be doing a couple of reviews later on next week hopefully because I will be getting some stuff from sleek makeup, a clip on extension kit from superstrands, and maybe a brush from sigma. If they happen to come in next week before Wed, I will try to squeeze in a little review on at least one of the items I just mentioned.

Next month will be a super busy month for me because I will be having exams and there are tremendous amt of work that are needed to be hand in. Therefore, aside from school, I really don't have much time for regular blogging, but I will try to squeeze in a post here and there.

See you guys soon.

Eyeko Product Review

Hi Everyone
So I am back with a short review on the eyeko products that I have ordered earlier. I have tried out two of the products from my order: VINTAGE nail polish, Graffiti Eyeliner Pen

So first off, the VINTAGE Nail polish: the polish is very liquidy, and the brush is fairly long which made application a lot easier. I have to say that I am very impressed with Eyeko's nail polish given that they are only 6.00 USD. The scent is not strong, and it dries up quickly. The colours are very true to what you see from the bottle. Also, two layers of polish is already sufficient. The one that I've used is the one in the middle shown in the pic below. I would give this product a 4.5 out of 5.

After first layer of Vintage

After two layers of Vintage

Next would be the graffiti eyeliner pen. Again, this product does not disappoint me in any way. I have used a lot of liquid eyeliner in the past, and most of them tend to smudge away very quickly. I had only one brand of liquid eyeliner that I stick to for about 3 years. Now, I've found another favourite. The graffiti eyeliner pen does not smudge even after 6 hours (well, could be longer, but I was only wearing it for 6 hours today). The tip of the eyeliner pen is very fine which made the drawing to be very accurate and precise. Even though this eyeliner does not smudge after so many hours, it does not make removal any difficult. You can just remove it with the normal eye makeup remover you use, and it will come right off. So, I use the graffiti pen for my everyday winged eyeline.

If you have any concerns or comments, feel free to leave a comment or email me.

Sergio Rossi Slingback

*clears throat*

Let me proudly present you with the Nude Sergio Rossi Slingback I've got awhile ago. They are peep toes, 4 inches, Nude Patent Leather AND amazingly comfortable. I am not even joking at how comfortable these 4 inchers are. I own another pair of 4inches which is by YSL, they are not nearly as comfortable as these one.

The insole of the Sergio Rossi is made incredibly well; it fits the feet like a sock. Of course, if you don't like slingbacks, Sergio Rossi do carry this colour and style in a pump.

Anyways, check them out if you are looking for a comfortable shoe for graduation prom, business dinner, date ..... You can literally run in them (well, I might be exaggerating on this one).

I got mine in a local department store called Lane Crawford.
I am sure there are retailers for Sergio Rossi alll around the world. If not, check the store locator out.

craving for some mustard???

New polish from Bourjois.

These two colours I got from their new collection are the 36 Jaune Trendy and 42 Orange Creation. I was going to get the green minty colour, but I recall myself ordering a similar colour on eyeko. I am still waiting for that to come in the mail. I fell in love with the mustard colour right away as this isn't the most common colour you can find. Then, the orange colour caught my eye also!

However, these enamels are not the easiest enamel to apply. They are very thick in texture which means that you have to try to obtain very tiny amount for the first time and apply a very thin layer, or else you might create clumps or bumps when applying the second layer. I got quite frustrated while applying this evening, but I could be a very bad at applying nail polish though. However, I am loving the colour to bits and pieces.

On the side note, Bourjois HongKong is currently having a promotion right now. If you buy three nail enamels, you will get a 125ml Gentle Nail Enamel Remover for free. It claims to be scented with red fruits and vanilla and also not to dry out the nails. Anyhow, if it does dry up my nails and makes my nails crack, I will let you guys know as soon as possible, but in the meantime, I need to finish up my other bottle of nail polish remover first. =P

Lie to Me - 2011 Korean Drama

Hello. Aside from cosmetics, clothes, music, I want to talk about my favourite pass-time event of all times - watching k-drama. Just 3 weeks ago, SBS has released a drama called "Lie to me" starring Yoon eun-hye (My favourite korean actress of all times) and Kang JiHwan. This story is about a turning-to-be 30-year-old Adminstrative Officer (Kong AhJung) at the Ministry of Culture lying to her friend about her getting married to a president (Hyun KiJoon) of World Hotel. The reason for AhJung's lies was to get back at her friend who stole her first love during high school. More lies are told to cover up the lies said before. Eventually, the president of World Hotel found out. However, as rumours spread, AhJung and KiJoon fall in love with each other... But of course, there will be obstacles that both of them have to overcome. We will see how this story leads us to.

Currently, episode 8 was just aired today. And I am refreshing the steaming site every sec for the episode with subs to be released. @.@ Sometimes, I am very frustrated about the korean drama schedule/timeable. Why only air twice a week? I don't understand. It will take forever to finish a drama. I would much prefer the system in TVB where they air thru monday to friday. Anyways, I can't wait to see how the story turns out. AhJung and JiKoon have already exchanged a kiss on last week's episode. The pace in this story sure is fast!!!!

Trailer with Eng. Sub.

ENJOY~

BBB - Blemish Balm Battle

Today's topic is BB cream. I have only tried three different types of BB cream, and all of them are originated from Korea. Although it is claimed that BB cream has become a great alternative for foundation, I believe that foundation is still better coverage-wise and function-wise. Also, I tend to have more break outs with consecutive usage of bb cream.

There are research claiming that bb cream having a tendency to clog pores for some people and I happen to be one of them. There are also cosmetologists who do not recommend bb cream because they say it takes double the time and double the amount of makeup remove for a thorough removal of bb cream than regular liquid foundation. I am not saying that you should at all eliminate using bb cream; however, I do not recommend consecutive usage. Probably once every few days when you are feeling lazy and do not want to do a full face foundation. And when you do use bb cream, be sure to remove thoroughly to avoid break out.

I will be introducing three types of bb cream in this post.
1. Skin 79 Diamond Collection BB
2. Gowoonsesang Hydra Intensive Blemish Balm
3. Dr. G Beyond Young Bling Bling Cream (which I have introduced in a former post)

As you can see from the above picture, Dr. G Beyond Young Bling Bling Cream gives a pinker shade while Skin79 giving a darker shade. Hydra Intensive BB on the other hand gives a matte and more natural result.

Just like its name, bling bling cream contains a tiny amount of glitter in which gives a shimmering effect under sunlight. This bb cream will make your skin look younger and richer because of its shimmering result. I personally think this formula is better for summertime since it's quite dry but it's tolerable.

The hydra intensive BB is great for wintertime because it makes sure your skin is moisturized. I like this bb cream because the smell is pleasant and it gives a great natural look with good coverage. However, I got very oily with this bb cream.

The Skin79 BB Diamond - I totally do not recommend. The smell is gross. My forehead and nose area become greasy very fast. The shade is too dark for me. I just do not recommend. But this formula is the most watery one out of the three which made blending so much easier.

Review on Chanel foundation compact & concealer

Hello, I am going to do a review on a recent purchase of concealer and powder foundation compact. They are both from Chanel.

The foundation Compact comes with a brush and a sponge. It says that the brush will give a translucent result where as the sponge application will give a natural coverage result. Therefore, usually what I do is use a sponge to apply to areas where I've applied concealer then use the brush to lightly apply the foundation onto the remaining part of the face. I've been using this compact for a week already. Before I used the loose powder by bobbi brown which cracks occasionally under the eye area because my under-eye area tend to dehydrate faster (just like everyone else). However, this compact from chanel can actually keep my under eye area wrinkle-free for hours. Also, the powder is fine enough to give good coverage. I would totally recommend it. For previous times, I've tried the foundation compact from Armani, shisedo and bobbi brown. This one is by far the best I've used. I am paler asian, so I was recommended to use the B10 Beige which is the 2nd lightest shade in the chanel collection.

So moving onto the Lift Lumière Eye Contour Concealer from Chanel. I have to give it a HAPPY FACE =D. This concealer is natural looking. Although its coverage isn't as good as the concealing kit I've used previously from bobbi brown, this concealer is a water based formula which makes blending easier. However, the downside to water based formulas is the time and skills it takes to apply it. This concealer is in a more liquidy form whereas most concealer sold on markets are creamy; therefore, when you first apply it, I recommend you to apply a thin layer first with a brush and wait for it to dry, then apply another layer with a brush then blend it out with your ring finger.  This will give better coverage. This is a good formula for asian I think because the shade has more yellow to it which gives a more natural shading to asians. I know all about having a paler or whiter under eye when the concealer is too creamy (harder to blend) and a more paler shade. Neglect the fact that I am pale as an asian, I am still asian so there is always some yellowness in me. However, I do not know if other parts of the world are selling the same shades as in Hong Kong. But you can always check with the makeup artists at the counter and have them try out different shades for you.

So this is the longest review I've written in quite a while. Next time, I will be doing a review on 3 of the bb creams I've used.

Review on Weft Tape Extension

I've got my weft tape extension today at i-forward salon in TST. It took me and my stylist 7 hours exactly to dye, to apply the extensions, and to cut. It was a dreadful experience because I hate sitting for so long. Bear in mind that I have not tried any other types of extension before, so I will not be comparing this to any other extensions method out there.

The application part was easy, but it took a long time for me because I have very thick hair. Due to the fact that my own hair is super thick, I don't think the amt of extensions I am wearing now is up to comparison to my natural amt of hair. But nevertheless, it has added a lot of length and volume to my super duper short hair from before. The outcome was good; however, the cut I got wasn't super nice~ you can clearly see where my own hair ends, and the cut didn't make my own hair and the extensions blend together. I guess that depends on the cut, and not on the extensions themselves. The weight of the hair is acceptable. I have not tried washing it myself yet but I will do that tomorrow morning. Perhaps I should update you guys on the post-shampooing conditions. I am guessing there is a lot of combing and untangling to do. Tonight I will be sleeping with the big braid because I read somewhere that braiding the extensions together during sleep time will help eliminate serious tangling. So, we will see how that is too... when tomorrow hits. mm~ soo.. now. picture time.
